About Catch
"Sungold Cool Catch", or Catch as he is called, is presently one of the most successful working Golden Retriever in Scandinavia.
Currently he holds titles as Danish Workingtest Champion (DKWTCH), Danish Working Champion (DKBRCH) and EV19 title as the winner of the Danish Field Trail Championship in 2019. Catch is the first Golden to win this since 1972!
"A sensational winner" he was called by the host, the Danish Retriever Club. Futher to this, he was awared the most winning Retriever in 2019 in the Danish Retriever Club. He was placed in 16 events over 2019 season and placed 1st in 6 of them.
Catch was also part of the team representing Denmark at the 2019 International Team event hosted by The Kennel Club at Chatsworth. The Danish team placed 5th; Catch completed the 2 day event, bringing all dummies.
The working dog behind the results I would describe as an exellent gamefinder, proven on many trials ad throughout the hunting season. Catch is steady but high energy dog with high drive and strong will to please. He is very trainable and a quick learner; so its also important to keep the training varied. This way I have been successful in training a very strong competitor in the filed trial scene, thanks to his excellent marking ability along with his exeptional ability to be handled in the field. As with other Goldens I will recommend a bit of patience in the training when they pass the "teenage period" and don't force progress in this period: let the dog mature and then train on!
Catch is build as a compact strong dog, with good proportions and a charismatic face.
His attitude in the home is very relaxed: he will "swich off" indoor and relax, until next walk or training pass. He has a strong mentality and gets along with other dogs or people, young and old. He is my true companion and he will follow me anywhere.
As stud, Catch has produced some very homogenous puppies and so far the available health results show healthy strong offspring, with clear elbows and hips. Many pups are being trained for the field or obedience, and they are doing very well. It seems the good work ethic and will to please Catch possesses is passed on, to the joy of the lucky new puppy ownrs.
